What is PlayCut?
Playcut, LLC is a platform that connects gaming hosts (streamers, content creators, skilled players) with fans who want to play with them. Hosts create queues, and players join to get matched up for gameplay.
How does it work?
For Hosts: Create a queue for your game, set your rules (free, hybrid, or paid), and manage players as they join. You can use the OBS overlay to show your queue live on stream.
For Players: Browse active queues, join the ones you like, and optionally bid to skip ahead in line. When it's your turn, you'll be notified and can join the game.
Is PlayCut free?
Creating an account and browsing queues is always free. Queue participation depends on the host:
- Free queues: Join at no cost
- Paid queues: Require a minimum bid to join
- Hybrid queues: Free to join, but you can optionally bid to skip ahead
What games are supported?
PlayCut supports any multiplayer game where hosts can invite players. Popular choices include League of Legends, Valorant, Fortnite, Apex Legends, CS2, and more. The host chooses the game when creating their queue.
For Players
How do I join a queue?
- Browse the home page to see active queues
- Click on a queue that interests you
- Read the queue rules and requirements
- Click "Join Queue" (or "Bid to Skip" if you want priority)
- Wait for your turn - you'll see your position in the queue
- When it's your time, you'll be notified to join the game
What is "Bid to Skip"?
"Bid to Skip" lets you use PlayCredits to move up in the queue. The more you bid, the higher your priority. This is optional in hybrid queues and required in paid queues. Your bid goes directly to the host (minus a 10% platform fee).
What's the minimum bid amount?
PlayCut enforces a minimum bid of $0.25. However, hosts can set their own minimum bid higher than this (e.g., $1, $5, $10). You'll see the host's minimum when viewing the queue.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are available in limited circumstances:
- ✅ If the host cancels the entire queue
- ✅ If the host unfairly skips your turn
- ✅ If there's a technical error
- ❌ Once you've played with the host (session completed)
- ❌ If you leave the queue voluntarily

How do I know when it's my turn?
You'll see your position in the queue on the queue page. When you're next up, the host will mark you as "Playing" and you'll receive visual feedback to join the game. Make sure to stay on the queue page or check back regularly.
Can I join multiple queues at once?
Yes! You can join as many queues as you like. However, make sure you're available to play when your turn comes up in each queue.
For Hosts
How do I create a queue?
- Click "Host Queue" in the navigation
- Fill out the queue form (game, mode, minimum bid, rules)
- Click "Create Queue"
- Share your queue link with your community!
What queue modes are available?
- Free: Players join at no cost, first-come first-served
- Paid: Players must bid to join (set your minimum bid)
- Hybrid: Free to join, but players can optionally bid to skip ahead
How do I get paid?
To receive payouts, you need to connect your PayPal account:
- Go to your Wallet page (Settings → Wallet)
- Enter your PayPal email address
- Withdraw your Credits (converted to USD) whenever you have at least $50.00
- Net-30 Security Hold: To protect against fraud and chargebacks, all host earnings are subject to a 30-day clearing period before they become withdrawable.
- Tax Compliance: If your lifetime earnings exceed $600.00, you will be required to submit a Form W-9 before further payouts are processed.
- You receive 90% of all bids (PlayCut keeps 10% platform fee)
Can I run multiple queues at once?
No. You can only have one active queue at a time. This ensures you can focus on providing a great experience for your players. Once you close a queue, you can create a new one.
Why can't I change my queue price after players have joined?
Once a player has paid to join your queue, you cannot modify the price, mode, or game rules. This protects players from bait-and-switch tactics where a host might collect payments at $1 and then increase the minimum bid to $10.
What you CAN still edit:
- Game title
- Match code
- Queue description/notes
Why this matters: Trust is everything. Players need confidence that the terms they paid for won't change mid-queue.
How do I use the OBS overlay?
- Create and start your queue
- Click the "Overlay" button on your dashboard
- Copy the overlay URL
- In OBS, add a "Browser Source"
- Paste the URL and set dimensions (recommended: 400x600)
- Your queue will now appear on stream!
What if a player is being disruptive?
You can boot a player from your queue at any time using the "Boot" button in your host controls.
Automated Suspension Policy:
- 1st Offense: 1 hour suspension from all queues
- 2nd Offense: 4 hour suspension from all queues
- 3rd+ Offense: 24 hour suspension from all queues

Technical
Why connect Steam?
Connecting your Steam account (for hosts) enables the "Join Game" button for players. When you mark someone as playing, they can click "Join Game" to automatically join your Steam lobby. This makes the experience smoother for everyone. It's optional but highly recommended.
Why connect Twitch?
Connecting Twitch (for hosts) displays your livestream on the PlayCut home page when you're live. This helps promote your queue to a wider audience and increases player engagement. It's optional.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes! You purchase PlayCredits securely through PayPal. PlayCut never sees or stores your payment card details, as all transactions are handled by PayPal. Your payment information is encrypted and secure.
What browsers are supported?
PlayCut works best on modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge (latest versions). Mobile browsers are also supported, though the desktop experience is optimized for hosts.
Advertising
Why do I see ads while waiting in a queue?
PlayCut displays short video ads (up to 30 seconds) to players waiting in queue. This helps support the platform and keeps it free for hosts and players. The player who is next up (being paged) does not see ads—they need to focus on clicking "Ready" within 60 seconds.
Does PlayCut interfere with Twitch/YouTube/Kick streams?
No. We comply fully with all third-party platform Terms of Service. When an ad plays, we temporarily pause and remove the embedded stream from view, then restore it when the ad completes. We do not overlay, block, or modify the embedded stream player in any way.
How can I go ad-free?

Referral Program
How does the referral program work?
Our referral program rewards you for bringing friends to PlayCut. Share your unique referral link (found in your Dashboard), and when a friend signs up and joins their first paid queue, you both get rewarded!"Proof of Human" Required: To be eligible for rewards, both parties must have a verified email, a linked Steam account, and be a member of our Discord server.
What are the rewards?
- Referrer (You): $5.00 in PlayCredits
- Referee (Friend): $2.00 "Welcome Cashback" credited to their first spend
What is the "First Spend" trigger?
To prevent fraud, rewards are issued only after the person you referred joins a **paid queue ($5+ cents)**. The reward is processed automatically upon their first successful spend on the platform.
Why do I need to link Steam?
Both the Referrer and the Referee must have a linked Steam account to be eligible for rewards. This serves as a "Proof of Human" and helps keep our community safe from automated bots. Rewards are processed automatically once both accounts meet this requirement and the referee's first spend occurs.
Are referral credits withdrawable?
Referral bonuses are provided as **PlayCredits (Promotional)**. They can be used to join any queue on the platform but cannot be withdrawn as cash to PayPal. However, any earnings you make from *hosting* queues are fully withdrawable after the 30-day cooling period.

How do I report a bug or issue?

How quickly will you respond?
We aim to respond to all support requests within 2-3 business days. Urgent issues (payment problems, account access) are prioritized and typically resolved within 24 hours.
Can I request a feature?
Absolutely! We love hearing from our community. Email your ideas to support@playcut.gg. While we can't implement every suggestion, we carefully consider all feedback when planning new features.
